| MISSION STATEMENT
The SVG-Human Rights Association is an independent body for the promotion of human rights primarily in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines but also in the wider Caribbean Community. We pledge to promote and encourage respect for human rights and fundamental freedoms for all without distinction as to race, colour, sex, language, religion, political or other opinions, national origin or social status.
The SVG-Human Rights Association recognizes the Universal Declaration of Human Rights as a document whose principles light the way forward on our journey in working for the recognition and respect for the human dignity and equal and inalienable rights of all Vincentians. Our organization is guided in its work by its Constitution whose objectives are:-
- To work to promote the observance of human rights in all their various aspects civil, political, economic, social and cultural as a comprehensive and inter-related system of rights.
- To promote the education and organization of Vincentians regarding their human rights and responsibilities.
- To encourage the appropriate authorities to press forward with the economic development of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, to promote economic growth and social transformation, which will enhance and extend the enjoyment of economic, social and cultural rights in the society.
- To set up machinery to collate, record and publicize abuses of human rights.
- To seek ways and means to remedy abuses of human rights, whether through the Courts, other tribunals, workers organizations, or otherwise, as the case may require.
- To liaise with and become affiliated to other human rights organizations in the Caribbean and further a field, as the Association deems fit.
